Client Success Story > Compute Cluster Solution
Compute Cluster Solution
The Compute Cluster (CC) implementation provides a robust infrastructure enabling distributed, scalable, and 100% available signaling applications. The compute cluster architecture enables multiple compute servers that are linked on a network and implemented like an individual entity. The compute cluster utilizes standard network transport protocols, such as Linux Transparent Inter Process Communication (TIPC) and Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP), to enable efficient cluster communications. A derivative of the Raft consensus algorithm is used to manage cluster resources, including virtual IP addresses, Signaling System No. 7 links, and cluster configuration.
The customer’s in-house R&D team was focused on the signaling product line. But the new product that the customer wanted to implement required system engineering R&D. Telaverge offered its R&D and development support which helped the customer transform an idea into an end-to-end solution. It took about a year to productize the solution and has strengthened its relationship with the customer since then. Today we have a dedicated R&D and development team focused on providing solutions to the customer.
Why Telaverge?
The Telaverge R&D team worked closely with the customer’s CTO to draft requirements. We evaluated multiple technologies, including existing Memcached solutions—shared prior experience and know-how of transport protocols, including TIPC & SCTP.
Once the requirements were drafted and technology was chosen, the TelaVerge R&D team helped the customer to augment its platform with robust and scalable clustering.
The deciding factors for the customer were:
Telaverge's Protocol Expertise
Proven track record of providing quality services
Telaverge’s knowledgeable and experienced R&D team
The Outcomes
The project went live and is part of the customer’s flagship product.
