Client Success Story > Network Audit
Network Audit
The customer, a Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA) provides telecom services over disparate networks, multivendor, and multi-technology ecosystems to 100+ Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs).
The customer wanted an independent network audit to detect any anomalies in their own network, as well as the Mobile Network Operator’s (MNO’s) network (looking for a “Ghost in the Network”).
Finding network anomalies, preventing revenue leakage, and preventing churn which leads to lost opportunities all are supercritical to an MVNO’s success.
The Challenges
There were multiple players and equipment involved (MNO’s network nodes like - STP, SMSC, SGSN & GGSN), ISV/OEM (Interworking Functions) and ISV/OEM (Charging OCS), and several protocols - RADIUS, Diameter, Camel, HTTP.
Humongous data volumes - terabytes (TB)
Multiple capture points and origins for data
Multiple formats of data - PCAP, text CDRs, spreadsheets
The customer suspected revenue leakage or a ‘ghost in the network’ but had no way of pinpointing or finding its location.
Telaverge customized their PrObserv product and did an independent network audit over several months of data, spanning more than 30 Terabytes (TBs).
Telaverge prepared a detailed 108-page audit report. We uncovered six critical anomalies in the network, which would directly impact revenue and customer churn.
There were also several specific business use case requests from the customer to correlate—for example, the relationship between MVNO end-customers usage concerning changes in handsets, data plans, etc. and our ML algorithms were used to detect and investigate these.
Apart from the report and business use cases, we also deployed PrObserv, which could continuously ingest data and generate easy-to-understand visualizations and provide complete observability of what's going on in their network.
