Client Success Story > Enhancing VoLTE Connectivity with Multi-Site DRA Expansion in New Zealand
Enhancing VoLTE Connectivity with Multi-Site DRA Expansion in New Zealand
The customer’s existing capacity was 1,000 TPS, with a target of 26,000 TPS, which required the deployment and configuration of three additional sites. As part of the solution, a new Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) was implemented to manage 4G internal diameter traffic routing. Since the customer had no existing DRA, the deployment supported their expansion and restructuring of the IMS Core and EPC. Additionally, EMS-Lite was installed to monitor all Master nodes and DSC Edges, excluding STP Edges, ensuring efficient system management.
The Challenges
The customer was facing network congestion (upto 90%) and instability due to high traffic during peak times.
Current capacity was nearing full utilization, risking service degradation.
The system lacked redundancy and had no failover mechanism in place.
The Solutions
Deployed a load-balancing solution to optimize traffic distribution and prevent congestion during peak usage.
Upgraded the network infrastructure to scale capacity by 30%, ensuring better handling of high volumes of traffic.
Implemented a failover and disaster recovery system to ensure high availability of services.
The Outcomes
The network was stabilized, with no significant downtime or performance issues during high-traffic periods.
The increased capacity ensured better service continuity and allowed for future traffic growth.
The failover system provided a safety net, ensuring service reliability even in the event of hardware failures.
